The new Music School of Sabadell is integrated into the extension of the Sant Oleguer Civic Center, aiming to become an open and vibrant space serving the neighborhood.
The main façade is designed with a glass curtain wall based on bioclimatic criteria, maximizing solar gain in winter and acting as a thermal regulator in summer. This translucent front is not only an environmental device but also a visual metaphor: the horizontal mullions resemble a musical staff, where the life of the building unfolds like a composition.
Behind it, a concrete Trombe wall enhances energy efficiency and features rhythmic perforations that evoke musical signs. In this way, the façade becomes an architectural score where light and shadow play the role of musical notes.
Inside, classrooms are organized in a compact and flexible way, with special attention to acoustics and user comfort. Teaching spaces coexist with multipurpose rooms connected to the civic center, reinforcing the idea of a shared facility capable of generating cultural synergies.
The result is a building that brings together architecture, sustainability, and music in a unique experience for both students and the wider community.
